What You Need to Know Before You Apply:

People volunteer for a diverse range of reasons – some looking for adventure, some on their gap year, some for academic purposes , others looking to get involved in philanthropy. Whatever the motivation is, it is dependent on and heavily influenced by an individual’s life, expectations and desires. Some motivations were simple: to travel, to meet people and network, and wanting more than to 'merely' go backpacking. Some were focused on the future such as broaden horizons, personal growth and professional development.
Volunteering is a great way to learn and practice a profession that you’d need qualifications or experience to do back home. A volunteer project can help facilitate this experience, whilst also providing a social base for volunteers to meet like-minded people.

Volunteer organizations such as 2nd Partner provide a safety net. Living in isolated communities in rural areas, regardless of country, without support can obviously carry inherent risks. A volunteer organization’s local infrastructure, personnel and knowledge allows volunteers to explore destinations more safely.
2nd partner is a new venture offering specialized volunteer travel experiences engaging tourists in local conservation and community development initiatives, by guiding them to work on projects in most threatened and challenged yet most endearing ecosystems, communities and cultures around the world.
So come on board with us for a life changing adventure!

Our Values & Ethics

We are driven by a desire to change the world for the better by increasing understanding about international issues and the connection between local actions and global effects. We use our projects as a medium to provide community driven innovative solutions to reduce inequality and support the diversity of developing communities.

Our projects are aligned with the needs of the community and the environment, and decisions are made based upon local circumstances. We maintain a strong online presence to build a network of supporters and to inspire and encourage volunteer ethic people around the world.

We have adopted ethical and morally accepted marketing practices and set clear expectations both for the communities/projects visited and the travelers. We base our success by supporting projects on community dedication, empowerment, guidance, support, evaluation and monitoring.

At all circumstances we are committed to deliver a Professional, Trustworthy and a Reliable service by maintaining transparency in all financial operations and keeping channels of communication open between donors and the communities, and within the projects. We offer good value to our travelers as our volunteer expeditions are priced to reflect living conditions of the host community and the project standards are maintained to give a balanced experience of both work and leisure.

Volunteer TravelPersonal Relevance

Our projects are sourced based on timely and relevant issues situated in appealing locations with interesting and varied activities running across many areas.

They are developed through local partner organizations which are run by local people, working together with community members on the initiative with their expertise in the area.

Therefore these projects are designed to support and build the capacity of local scientists, individuals and organizations that are working to create innovative restoration efforts and enhance economic recovery of communities.

We support projects with minimal or no government/private sector support to ensure their long‐term sustainability. A substantial percentage of the revenue generated from visiting volunteer tourists is directly channeled to the projects and local community to build up communities to eventually manage projects that are self‐sustaining to create projects and volunteer activities with a solid, self‐sufficient economic base.

We directly get involved in
development of projects and
volunteer programs to learn the
positives and potential pitfalls and also to instill a sense of quality control with responsibility and commitment over a long term.

Also we provide onsite project management to ensure a safe, educational, and a successful

volunteering environment

The flexible structures of our packages, allow trips to be tailored to specific contexts in order to address needs of the travelers.

Therefore people of all ages, backgrounds, income levels, and
abilities can chose to spend their holidays volunteering for projects at
different capacities.

We offer travelers a chance to stay in
homes of local families, use local
transport, family‐owned restaurants,
visit local markets and villages and
thereby achieve a unique level of
cultural exchange by learning and
been exposed to destinations natural
resources and rich cultures than
