2nd Partner was launched in 2010 by Mr. Vibhu Wickramasinghe, a passionate advocate of making a positive impact on future generations through sustainable and responsible volun-tourism. We provide travelers from around the world a chance to have a lasting impact on the communities they visit and an opportunity to experience meaningful adventures in the most exotic and remote parts of the world.

We offer a wide variety of projects in Sri Lanka and Thailand, where volunteers can come and work on - from conservation of mangroves to working at the national zoo to protecting sea turtles and teaching English language to kids in rural areas. Through our partnerships, volunteers are given an opportunity to participate in global community development and conservation efforts, while taking with them greater cultural immersion than they would have had otherwise.

What we do:
We encourage our volunteers to put their experience, knowledge and skills at the disposal of our partner organization’s free of charge, with the primary aim of helping the project to achieve its service objective’s and to bring collective benefit to the local community. In this sense, our target group for volunteers gap year students, research fellows, and interns, where the primary aim is to obtain certain work experience or to carry out work or research. This way volunteers gain the experience they need while the community benefits from the skills that the volunteers impart, creating an equitable impact for both segments.

Our purpose is to mobilize and direct global citizens with skills, capital, and expertise to the communities that they are most needed in around the world, creating a life changing adventure!
